Importance of paelosols

Hi Dears,
I am working on quaternary paleosols in central Iran.I need some comments about importance of paleosols besides of paleoclimatology studies.I have another question,in my studies I have found a paleosol that belongs to pleistocene which truncated and then has been covered by 20 cm recnt deposit, What kind of plaeosols( relict, exhumed or buried) I concern? I am eagerly waiting to hear from you.
