Dear Prof Yaalon

Canadian Society of Soil Science President as well as Chairman of
Division I, IUSS also strongly supports the notion. Please see IUSS
site, Division I report. During the London meeting, IUSS Executive
Committee has decided to recommend two new Commissions to Division I to
IUSS Council next year.

I am confident that will have two new Commissions (including
pedometrics) in due course.

Hello All,

I just returned from the Polish soil Science meetings in Krakow where
I met with Don Sparks, Professor Blume and others about the
paleopedology issue. We agree that IUSS is an appropriate venue for
a paleopedology commission and we will push for this at the meeting
in April in Philadelphia. I see a bright future for paleopedology
within IUSS.
