more on paleosols/geosols

Concerning the discussion PALEOSOLS-GEOSOLS, I have experienced
paleosols from Italy since the '80s, and I agree with Tarnocai, Mc
Fadden and Follmer on the opportunity to use the term PALEOSOLS, since
it is widely utilized in soil science literature. On the contrary,
GEOSOL is a limited and limiting concept.
Following the proposal of Morrison, why not use the term VETUSOLs, which
was proposed by my colegue Cremaschi some years ago?
